Generally measure powder particle size in the following two ways:
Resistance:
Law of resistance also known as Kurt, by the United States invented by a man named Kurt a size test method. This method is based on particles through a small hole in the moment, occupies a small part in porous space and line up the small holes of the conductive liquid, make small holes at both ends of the particle size distribution of the principle test of resistance to change. Small holes at both ends of the size of the resistor is proportional to the particle volume. Used Kurt granularity test method for use of media is usually the better conductivity of saline solution.

Micro-image method including microscope and CCD camera (or digital camera), graphics, capture cards, and computer parts. It of basic work principle is will microscope zoom Hou of particles image through CCD camera and graphics collection card transmission to computer in the, by computer on these image for edge recognition, processing, calculation out each particles of projection area, according to equivalent projection area principle obtained each particles of grain diameter, again statistics out by set of grain diameter interval of particles of number, on can get grain degrees distribution situation has.
 
Because of this method of single particle measured by number of less for alloy powder can be measured by replacing the field method multiple times to increase the authenticity of the test results. In addition to the size of testing, micro-image method is used to observe and test granular morphology.
